In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions:
“When did you stop dancing?
When did you stop singing?
When did you stop being enchanted by stories?
When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?”

Gabriel Roth

Root and meaning of the words ‘Ecstasy’ and ‘Enstasy’

Ecstasy (n.)
late 14c., extasie “elation,” from Old French estaise “ecstasy, rapture,” from Late Latin extasis, from Greek ekstasis “entrancement, astonishment, insanity; any displacement or removal from the proper place,” in New Testament “a trance,” from existanai “displace, put out of place,” also “drive out of one’s mind” (existanai phrenon), from ek “out” (see ex-) + histanai “to place, cause to stand,” from PIE root *sta- “to stand, make or be firm.”

Used by 17c. mystical writers for “a state of rapture that stupefied the body while the soul contemplated divine things,” which probably helped the meaning shift to “exalted state of good feeling” (1610s).

Enstasy (Gk., en-stasis, ‘standing into’).
The experiences, or abolition of experience, arising as a consequence of those meditational, etc., techniques which withdraw the practitioner from the world, and even from awareness of the self. The word was coined in contrast to ecstasy. Examples are dhyāna, jhāna.

Dance and all forms of art have been the oldest forms of human creativity and expression. Since ancient times, all forms of art have found their way around fires and ancient caves of our ancestors, deep within the temples of Egypt, India and the Mayans and many civiliztions, and spangled out in various cultures.

Our creative nature is a very intrinsic part of what makes us beautifully human.

Art is a great way for the body, mind and soul to find sacred connection to restore their natural rhythm.

It is a form of release, an evocation and a creative and graceful way to move through challenging times.

Art is medicine.
Art is a healer.

Get to the depths of how to use art for healing, creating transformations in your life, and to bring about a deep alchemy within.
In an Ecstatic & Enstatic Art session you are going to learn how…
